Axle counter section, train - signalled
Hi,
Does anyone know what comms the train driver uses to contact the signaller if he/she finds an obstruction in section following a conditional reset, ie running under on sight movement authority.
Thanks
Fil

RE: Axle counter section, train - signalled
Depends what he has got available.
Until GSM-R coverage available, where track circuits have been replaced by axle counters then there generally has to be some form of Interim radio system provided , to address the risk of an incident fouling an adjacent track and the use of track circuit operating clips which would previously have given some immediate protection wil;l now be useless.
Hence would probably use that; but in final analysis any possible means!

From an exam point of view "Discuss the key features of a communication system for the train driver to contact the signaller if he/she finds an obstruction in section following a conditional reset, ie running under on sight movement authority."
